Our shutter warranty

We warrant that our shutters will be free of defects in materials or workmanship.

Shutters are handmade, so a shutter panel will sometimes have small defects. If this happens, Shutter World will be happy to review the panel.

If a defect is so minor that it does not affect how the shutter works, or cannot be clearly seen from two metres away, then in any normal event it will not count as a defect, for as long as the original purchaser owns the shutters.

This is subject to the terms below, and to the shutters having been properly installed and made or assembled only from original materials and components. Any resale or other transfer of the product or its materials voids this warranty.

This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other obligations, liabilities or warranties. Shutter World will not in any event be liable for incidental or consequential damages, or for any expense associated with such damages.

Repair or remake of defective products is the only remedy under this warranty, and Shutter World will not in any event be liable for the cost of removing or reinstalling the product. Repairs will be made only with like or similar parts.

This warranty does not include shipping charges or the cost of the labour involved in measuring and installation.

This warranty does not cover any damage to the shutter or window caused by:

• unauthorised repairs, accidents or alterations
• misuse or abuse
• natural disasters
• motorised devices
• wear and tear
• not following our instructions on measurement, installation, cleaning or maintenance.

Any improper, inappropriate or unauthorised replacement parts, repairs or maintenance will void this warranty.

This warranty also excludes all liability for removing the shutter and reinstalling it in the same or another window, and for any damage to the window frame, the glass or any other part of the window.

Changes in room temperature, and direct sunlight on the window, make the material expand and contract. This can cause louvre (slat) deflection, sag or bow. Movement of up to plus or minus 2mm is within acceptable tolerances. Ask us for the specification sheet.

Because of manufacturing and natural variations in colour, grain and texture, Shutter World cannot guarantee an exact match to samples, or an exact match on later orders. We cannot authorise returns because of these normal variations.

All other warranties, both express and implied, are expressly disclaimed. This warranty excludes all liability for consequential or incidental damages for any cause whatsoever.
